PROJECT QUESTION: For the embedded stainless plate in the cap beams and the precast panels they are called out as continuous. Can these be supplied and cast in 4 or 5 foot sections or do they need to be welded together at 65-75 feet long before casting in?

Response: The smaller plates would need to be welded together. Note 2 on sheet B116A states ? Contractor is permitted to provide stainless steel plate embedded in the cap beams in multiple segments, as approved by the Engineer. Contractor shall weld adjacent segments and grind smooth all welds to form a continuous plate. - Per the plan note the smaller plates would need to be welded to achieve the longer continuous plate. Note the longer cap beam plate should be etched to receive the PTFE sheet.
