Why is the 2401.501 Structural Concrete (3U36 Modified)?

Question:

Why is the 2401.501 Structural Concrete (3U36 Modified)?

Answer:

Why the concrete is 'Modified'. It is because the required 28-day compression strength is larger than typical 3U concrete. Sheet B2 (under the MATERIALS heading) indicates that the minimum 28-day compressive strength of the 3U36 modified concrete is 6000ksi as opposed to the typical 5600ksi given in MnDOT's spec book.
