PROJECT QUESTION: Does Hennepin County require the Temporary Traffic Control Plans that are to be submitted by the Contractor, be signed by a PE per State Statute & the Traffic Engineering Manual?

QUESTIONS
Does Hennepin County require the Temporary Traffic Control Plans that are to be submitted by the Contractor, be signed by a PE per State Statute & the Traffic Engineering Manual?

Historically, Hennepin County has required G20-X2 type Pre-warning signs on the Mill - Overlay projects, which were paid for under the Sign Panels Type D. It seems obvious they are not required for this project as they are not shown in the plan and there isn’t a Sign Panel Type D bid item, but can you confirm they will not be required?

ANSWERS
Hennepin County does not require a TTC submitted by the Contractor to be signed by a PE as long as they are based on an established layout from the Field Manual and documentation of such is provided.

Hennepin County will not be requiring the G20 advanced warning signs; Hennepin County will be utilizing Portable Changeable Message Signs in lieu of.
