PROJECT QUESTION: Please clarify two of the bid items: 2104.502 - Remove Lighting Unit & 2104.502 - Salvage Lighting Unit. Will these lighting units only be removed and salvaged? Or are the lighting units going to be reinstalled?

Please clarify two of the bid items: 2104.502 - Remove Lighting Unit & 2104.502 - Salvage Lighting Unit. Will these lighting units only be removed and salvaged? Or are the lighting units going to be reinstalled?

Response:
The lights will not be reinstalled. The intent of item 2104.502 - Remove Lighting Unit is that the contractor will ‘own’ the light after the removal, and is responsible for disposal. The intent of item 2104.502 - Salvage Lighting Unit, is that the owner will ‘own’ the components that are taken down, and the Contractor will need to maintain the integrity of the components and deliver them to the owner. The bidder can determine if costs associated with salvaging are necessary to attribute to bid item 2104.601 Haul Salvaged Material.

Text in section S-46.4 notes details pertaining to hauling the salvaged material, including light fixtures. Plan pages 19, 74, 75, and 76 note the specific lights that are salvaged, and the one that is removed.
