Q: What are the existing roadway materials on the County Road 53 (66th Street) project?

A: According to our roadway history documents, the composition of the existing 66th Street corridor is as follows:

1. Penn Ave & west is bituminous surfacing
2. Penn Ave to Humboldt Ave is concrete pavement overlaid with bituminous
3. Humboldt Ave to Lyndale Ave is bituminous surfacing
4. Lyndale Ave and 66th Street to 4th Ave is concrete pavement overlaid with bituminous (includes Nicollet Ave)
5. 4th Ave to Columbus Ave is bituminous surfacing
6. Columbus Ave to 16th Ave is concrete pavement overlaid with bituminous
7. As per note 34 in the SEQ of the plans, mainline pavement is generally 10 inch-12 inch bituminous surfacing or is 9 inch concrete pavement overlaid with 2 inch-4 inch bituminous. The 35W ramps are 10 inch doweled, non-reinforced concrete. It is not known if the overlaid concrete pavements contain reinforcing steel. Minor side streets are estimated to contain 6 inch-7 inch bituminous.
